U.S. Marine Corps Col. Matthew St. Clair, 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit commanding officer, and Sgt. Maj. Todd Parisi, 26th MEU sergeant major, cut a birthday cake during a celebration of the 45th birthday of 26th MEU in the hanger bay of USS Wasp (LHD-1), April 24, 2012. 26th MEU was activated in 1967, and since then, has successfully completed various operations and exercises spanning across the globe. In a dynamic and ever changing world, the 26th MEU has always been a certain force in an uncertain world.
