Marines loaded thousands of pounds of gear, from miscellaneous supplies to vehicles, onto their trucks for the two-hour combat logistics patrol back to Camp Leatherneck. Marines say this process of retrograding gear and closing the base is a sign that the transition of security responsibilities to Afghan National Security Forces in southwest Afghanistan is occurring.
