U.S. Marine Maj. Gen. Patrick J. Hermesmann, right middle, the commander of U.S. Marine Corps Forces Europe and Africa, has lunch with Marines and Sailors with Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force-Crisis Response-Africa 19.2, MFEA, during a visit to Naval Air Station Sigonella, Italy, Aug. 19, 2019. Hermesmann spoke with the SPMAGTF-CR-AF troops about their mission and role as a crisis response force. SPMAGTF-CR-AF is deployed to conduct crisis-response and theater-security operations in Africa and promote regional stability by conducting military-to-military training exercises throughout Europe and Africa.
