The new quick response fire engine constructed specifically to fit through the access tunnel going from Marine Corps Logistics Base Barstow, California, to the Marine Memorial Golf Course exits the culvert on its way to the course, August 9. The fire engine retrofitted to an existing 2005 Ford F550 truck chasis came in at a price tag of just under $2000,000, less than half the price of building a new one from the ground up.
