A Combat Repair Team performs a wheeled-vehicle recovery during the 2017 Ordnance Crucible, at Fort Pickett, Va., Aug. 23, 2017. The annual competition tests the teams ability to perform Battle Damage Assessment and Repair, conduct recovery operations, and compete in a culminating maintenance challenge to evaluate the effectiveness of their tactics, techniques and procedures. It is designed to assess Soldiers’ teamwork and critical thinking skills as they apply technical solutions to real world problems.
