Submitted Photo by Matthew Bodenner. Elijah Palmer, Deputy Director of Education at the Hampton Roads Naval Museum, presents some historical information to CPO selects from area commands aboard the decommissioned Iowa-Class Battleship USS Wisconsin (BB-64). The presentation highlighted the U.S. Navy’s role during the Vietnam War, and was presented as part of the 19th Annual CPO Heritage Days training event on August 20-22, 2019. The event is the largest and longest running event for new CPO selects in the Hampton Roads area; and attracts over 850 CPO selects from over 50 area and out of state commands each year. The event is hosted by the Naval Museum in proud partnership with Nauticus, Sail Nauticus, the City of Norfolk, the Hampton Roads Naval Historical Foundation and area Chief Petty Officers.
