U.S. Marines of Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear, Marine Wing Headquarters Squadron 1, work alongside Marines with Explosive Ordnance Disposal, Marine Wing Support Squadron 172 during an EOD and Hazmat response training event aboard Marine Corps Air Station Futenma, Okinawa, Japan, Aug. 26, 2019. The purpose of the training was to ensure that 1st MAW CBRN can effectively respond to CBRN threats, identify agents that are potentially being created to harm civilians or military personnel and to ensure that members of the platoon have been conditioned to rescue and extract possible chemical casualties.
