LOS ANGELES (Aug. 27, 2019) Robbie Spears, emergency management coordinator for the City of Los Angeles, discusses emergency route clearance requirements during the annual Los Angeles Fleet Week Defense Support of Civil Authorities (DSCA) exercise conducted to prepare the city in the event of a natural disaster. LAFW is an opportunity for the American public to meet their Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard teams and experience America's sea services. During fleet week, service members participate in various community service events, showcase capabilities and equipment to the community, and enjoy the hospitality of Los Angeles and its surrounding areas.
