SANTA RITA, Guam (Aug. 29, 2019) Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician 1st Class Kevin Posten, from Flint, Michigan, assigned to Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit (EODMU) 5, observes members of Her Majesty’s New Zealand Ship Matataua (HMNZS Matataua) as they conduct a simulated underwater improvised explosive device (IED) clearing knowledge exchange as part of Exercise HYDRACRAB. HYDRACRAB is quadrilateral exercise conducted by forces from Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and U.S. Naval forces. The purpose of this exercise is to prepare the participating Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) forces to operate as an integrated, capable, and potent allied force ready to respond to a changing and complex maritime environment in the Indo-Pacific region.
