The South Carolina National Guard conducted a deployment ceremony at McEntire Joint National Guard Base in Eastover, South Carolina, Sept. 4, 2019, to recognize the mobilization of Detachment 2, Charlie Company, 2-238th General Support Aviation Battalion (MEDEVAC) in support of Operation Freedom's Sentinel. More than 25 Soldiers with Detachment 2, Charlie Company, 2-238th General Support Aviation Battalion (MEDEVAC), 59th Aviation Troop Command, South Carolina National Guard, will deploy to the Middle East for approximately nine months to provide medical evacuation assets to the area of operations.
