BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Brunei (Sept. 10, 2019)— Left to Right, His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam; Commander U.S. Indo-Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM), Adm. Phil Davidson; and U.S. Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam, Matthew J. Matthews, pose for a photo in front of a painting of the USS Constitution in the Brunei Harbor April 8, 1845. The painting was given to Brunei as a gift from the U.S. to commemorate the country’s National Day which celebrates Brunei’s independence from the U.K. Jan. 1, 1984.
