Community members honor those lost during the attacks on Sept. 11, 2001, during a remembrance ceremony Sept. 11, 2019, at Riverfront Park in Springfield, Massachusetts. Military members, first responders, and people from the local community gathered to pay their respects and remember those lost during the tragic events that took place that day. Colonel Peter T. Green III, 104th Fighter Wing commander, spoke during the ceremony. "America did not falter that day," said Green. "Instead, we came together as a country. We mourned and then we began to rebuild our communities and our lives. That is what Americans do. Persevere and never give up." (U.S. Air National Guard photo by Senior Airman Randy Burlingame)
