    II Marine Expeditionary Force

Thirty-five Navy chief covers are on display during the Chief Petty Officer Pinning Ceremony on Camp Lejeune, N.C., Sept. 13 2019. The chief selects were pinned to the rank of chief petty officer and among them were two Marines that earned the title of honorary chief petty officer. Before the chief selects can pin on their new rank, they must go through a six-week initiation course in order to instill the trust that is inherent with the donning of the uniform of a chief.
