The children of two former U.S. pilots who were rescued during Operation Halyard were reunited during a commemoration for the 75th anniversary of Operation Halyard held at the University Belgrade library in Belgrade, Serbia, Sept. 13, 2019. Operation Halyard was the largest rescue of downed Airmen and the largest repatriation effort of World War II. U.S. Air Force participation in the ceremony serves to commemorate this historic event and highlights the partnership between the U.S. and Serbia. (U.S. Army photo by Sgt. Alexis K.
