Master Sgt. Douglas Grimmett II, the operations chief for Radio Battalion, Charlie Company, at Camp Pendleton, Calif., pictured here with his family, has deployed 17 times in his 20-year career. Grimmett hopes the deployment he recently returned from is his last. His family helped him pull through the hard times with letters and phone calls. “They have been the backbone of my support,” Grimmett said.
