Col. Gregory Cannata, the Joint Readiness Training Center Operations Group Deputy Commander, discussed the potentiality of a future war with a power on near equal footing with the U.S. military and what the U.S. Army needs to do to prepare for it. He told the leaders at the Illinois Army National Guard’s Commanders Guidance Conference on Sept. 22 that he knows that many Soldiers do not enjoy JRTC rotations, but he knows the rigorous training there is valuable. The conference was in East Peoria, Illinois, from Sept. 22-24.
