John Wayne Troxell, the Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the senior noncommissioned officer in the U.S. Armed Forces, along with an entrenching tool that Troxell presented to Sgt. Maj. Andrew Weldon. Troxell spoke about total force integration at the Illinois Army National Guard’s Commanders Guidance Conference in East Peoria, Illinois, on Sept. 24. Troxell serves as the principal military advisor to the Chairman and the Secretary of Defense on all matters involving joint and combined total force integration, utilization, health of the force and joint development for enlisted personnel. Troxell spoke about how vital the National Guard is to the nation’s defense.
