NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (Sept. 25, 2019) Lynn Simpson, Executive Director, U.S. Pacific Fleet Total Fleet Force Manpower and Personnel, is briefed on USS Gerald R. Ford's (CVN 78) advanced weapon elevators by Capt. John J. Cummings, Ford's commanding officer, and Capt. Timothy Waits, Ford's executive officer, in the ship's weapons-handling area. Simpson visited Ford to see first-hand the progress the ship is making during its post-shakedown availability and to speak directly to Ford's leadership.
