The 28th Expeditionary Air Refueling Squadron chief boom operator passes through a gauntlet of U.S. flags as he returns to the flight deck of a KC-135 Stratotanker after refueling a pair of F-15E Strike Eagles at an undisclosed location, Sept. Sept. 24, 2019. The aircrew were flying the flags to commemorate the contributions of U.S. service members to the deployed mission there. The flags represent the commitment of the men and women of the armed forces, the Global Coalition to defeat terrorism, and honors those who have died protecting the freedoms the flag represents.
