Eagle Pass South Station Border Patrol agents encountered a group of nine illegal aliens suffering from severe heat distress and dehydration, Aug. 3, 2019. Two were hospitalized for heat-related issues. Despite agents' life-saving efforts, a 47-year-old man passed away at the scene. Agents carried several of the subjects out of the remote area. Temperatures well above 100 degrees and extreme stress of the rescue resulted in several agents requiring advanced medical treatment, following their heroic efforts.
