Maj. Andrea Homer, a guest instructor from Special Operations Command South, engages with students while teaching a lesson on gender in the joint planning process, Sept. 19, 2019, at the education center in Yokota Air Base, Japan. This was during the first GiO course in the Department of Defense, which was developed in response to the need for comprehensive education on incorporating gender perspectives into military operations such as foreign disaster relief.
