NORTH ATLANTIC OCEAN (Sept. 24, 2019) The Military Sealift Command large, medium-speed roll-on/roll-off surge sealift ship USNS Gilliland (T-AKR 298) performs tactical formation maneuvers during a transit of the North Atlantic Ocean, Sept. 24, 2019. The simulated convey maneuvers were part of U.S. Transportation Command's turbo activation, which was designed to test the surge sealift fleet's material readiness and its crews' ability to sail their ships in a contested environment.
