Petty Officer 2nd Class Brett Reel and Lt.j.g. Eva Sandri, members of Coast Guard Sector Honolulu’s prevention team, and natives of Winter Park, Florida, and Silver Spring, Maryland, respectively, inspect the hull of the Galaxy Leader, a 620-foot roll-on roll-off ship, during a vessel inspection in Honolulu, Sept. 23, 2019. Roll-on roll-off ships - also commonly known as “ro-ros”- are designed to carry wheeled cargo driven on and off the boat, such as cars, trucks, semi-trailer trucks. The Sector Honolulu prevention team ensures these vessels can operate safely in U.S. ports and waterways for the protection of mariners and the environment.
