U.S. Marines with 3rd Battalion, 11th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, give a tour of their heavy equipment to Marines with 3rd Amphibious Assault Vehicle (AAV) Battalion aboard the amphibious transport dock ship USS New Orleans (LPD 18) in the eastern Pacific, Sept. 29, 2019. During their tour, Marines from 3rd AAV Battalion were trained on the operation of the howitzer weapons system. Cross-training like this is critical as it ensures fluidity and readiness across Marine units which enable maximum lethality. (U.S. Marines Corps photo by Cpl. Mark A. Lowe II)
