Maj. Gen. Matthew G. Glavy, Commanding General of Marine Corps Forces Cyberspace Command, shares the story of Col. Alva Bryan Lasswell, the namesake for MARFORCYBER’s headquarters building, with the Assistant Commandant of the Marine Corps Gen. Gary L. Thomas. Lasswell enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1925 and, among many contributions, played a vital role in the Battle of Midway by translating an intercepted and decoded Japanese message that revealed the Japanese Navy’s intentions.
