PUERTO PRINCESA, Philippines (Oct. 15, 2019) - Mael Barrientos, chairman of the district of Kamuning, right center, U.S. Navy Seabees assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 5 and Philippine Navy Seabees assigned to Philippine Naval Forces West render honors during the playing of the Philippine national anthem during the groundbreaking ceremony for an engineering project at Kamuning Elementary School as part of Maritime Training Activity (MTA) Sama Sama 2019. Now in its third year, MTA Sama Sama includes forces from Japan, Philippines and the United States, and is designed to promote regional security cooperation, maintain and strengthen maritime partnerships, and enhance maritime interoperability.
