Captain Patrick Sullivan displays his finishers medal after winning the shadow version of the Marine Corps Historic Half marathon at Forward Operating Base Delaram II, Afghanistan, May 20, 2012. This race took place on the same day as the Historic Half in Fredericksburg, Va. The 33 Marines, sailors and civilians who took part in the Afghanistan race all finished and received official Historic Half t-shirts and finisher’s medals at the end of the 13.1 mile run. Sullivan had a finish time of 1:37:21. The women’s winner was Navy Lt. Rebecca Murphy at 1:48:51.
