Submitted photo by Clay Farrington. Scenes showing the pre-opening setting at the Hampton Roads Naval Museum’s new exhibit “The Ten Thousand-Day War at Sea: The U.S. Navy in Vietnam, 1950-1975”. The new immersive exhibit encompasses over 4,700 square feet of their gallery and is the first major renovation at the museum since the museum relocated to the Nauticus campus in 1994. The exhibit brings 130 new artifacts on display that tell the story of the U.S. Navy’s role during the Vietnam War, and also encompasses interactive elements such as interactive maps and oral history interviews with 40 local U.S. Navy Vietnam War era veterans. The exhibit opened to the public on October 9, 2019. (US Navy Photo by Clay Farrington/Released).
