The plaque dedicated to the servicemembers of Exercise Fortress Lightening at the Semper Fidelis Memorial Chapel, Oct. 20, 2019. During this training exercise twelve Marines and one Navy corpsman were valiantly rescued, and twenty four tragically lost their lives as the helicopter plummeted off a rigid cliff, tumbling approximately 400 feet into the vast jungle below.
