NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (Oct. 20, 2019) Aviation Boatswain's Mate (Equipment) Airman Recruit Archigbue Uche, from Columbus, Ohio, assigned to USS Gerald R. Ford's (CVN 78) air department, pulls feeder cable through the cable shock absorber for the ship's advanced arresting gear. Ford's air department installed the ship's arresting gear cables for the first time in 15 months since undergoing post-shakedown availability.
