The South High School marching band from Torrance, Calif., marches at the 53rd Annual City of Torrance Armed Forces Day Celebration and Parade May 19, 2012. The parade has the distinction of being the nation’s longest-running military parade sponsored by any city. Thousands of service members from all five branches of the military participated in the event, one of the few in the nation designated by the Department of Defense.
