Sgt. Jarod Phillips, U.S. Army Garrison Ansbach Provost Marshal Office and week Installation Law Enforcement Certification Course (ILEC) instructor, wipes Oleoreisin Capiscum (OC), commonly known as “pepper spray” over the eyes of Spc. Brandon Simmons, 527th Military Police Company Oct. 18. This is to show students the effects of OC. The course covers a wide array of topics: first aid, non-lethal weapons, DUI’s, traffic stops, and active shooter response. Over the course of the two-weeks, Soldiers will be taught by certified Field Training Officers who possess expertise on the specific topics they are tasked with teaching.
