U.S. Navy Lieutenant Varun Tandon, the Facilities, Engineering and Acquisition Division director for Marine Corps Logistics Base Barstow, spoke to an audience of veterans and other guests about his lifelong dream of becoming a naval officer at the Navy birthday celebration held at the California Veterans Home - Barstow, in Barstow, Calif., Oct. 14. During the event, guests also enjoyed a video of naval history, reminisced about the good old days, and celebrated with birthday cake and punch.
