An Airman from the 28th Munitions Squadron assures that Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM) guidance kits are secured to a flatbed truck at the Munitions Storage Area on Ellsworth Air Force Base, S.D., Oct. 21, 2019. The munitions were transported to the flight line during U.S. Strategic Command’s exercise Global Thunder 20. Global Thunder is an annual command and control exercise that provides training opportunities that assess all USSTRATCOM mission areas and joint and field training operational readiness, with a specific focus on nuclear readiness.
