A U.S. Marine with the Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force-Crisis Response-Africa 20.1, Marine Forces Europe and Africa, assembles a modified explosive during an advanced-manufacturing charge range at Naval Station Rota, Spain, Oct. 30, 2019. Explosive ordnance disposal technicians with SPMAGTF-CR-AF 20.1 conducted the range using shaped charges and colliding shockwave charge platforms designed and developed on a 3-D printer. The training exercise advanced the technician’s expertise by developing and testing specialized charges. SPMAGTF-CR-AF is deployed to conduct crisis-response and theater-security operations in Africa and promote regional stability by conducting military-to-military training exercises throughout Europe and Africa.
