U.S. Air Force Airmen conduct paradrop training Oct. 29, 2019, at Kadena Air Base, Japan. Per bilateral agreements between the U.S. and Japan, Kadena AB is used as an alternate drop location when the primary overland drop zone, Ie Jima, is not available to meet the immediate training needs of U.S. Forces. Per bilateral agreements, a weather call is required 48 hours prior to paradrop training at Kadena AB in order to allow for notifications to the Government of Japan.
