KEYPORT, Wash. (Nov. 8, 2019) - Rear Adm. Douglas Perry, left, commander, Submarine Group 9, presents Capt. James Belz, right, with the Legion of Merit award during a change-of-command ceremony for the Ohio-class guided-missile submarine USS Michigan (SSGN 727) Gold Team. During the ceremony Capt. Michael Beckette relieved Capt. James Belz as the commanding officer for the USS Michigan Gold Team. The Michigan returned from a forward-deployed status in May, and is now undergoing a major maintenance period at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard.
