REDZIKOWO, Poland (Oct. 30, 2019) – Polish Force Protection Battalion commanding officer Col. Radoslaw Sulek performed the ceremonial induction for the cadets on Oct. 30, 2019. Sailors from NSF Redzikowo and Aegis Ashore Missile Defense System Poland often partner with military students to conduct cultural exchanges and learn more about the military lifestyle. U.S. Navy Cmdr. Tate Metlen, executive officer of Naval Support Facility (NSF) Redzikowo, also attended the formal induction and swearing in for junior military cadets at the community school in Redzikowo, Poland. Sailors from NSF Redzikowo often participate in community relations events as part of an ongoing effort to build strong partnerships with civic leaders in the region. The new Navy base will be home to the Aegis Ashore Missile Defense System (AAMDS) which will expand a defensive capability that protects NATO European territories, populations and forces against ballistic missiles launched from outside the Euro-Atlantic region.
