A 62nd Fighter Squadron Norwegian fighter student pilot prepares to fly for the first time in the F-35A Lightning II while a 62nd Aircraft Maintenance Unit crew chief speaks to the student pilot through his headset Oct. 2, 2019, at Luke Air Force Base, Ariz. The student pilot is training through the eight-month first-ever allied F-35 B-course, where he, along with one other Norwegian and two U.S. student pilots, will complete simulation training and academics and become familiar with the F-35’s components.
