190805-N-II672-0090 NEWPORT, R.I. (August 5, 2019) Rear Adm. Shoshana S. Chatfield, president U.S. Naval War College, presents the Distinguished Graduate Leadership Award to retired Vice Adm. Bruce E. Grooms, a 1993 class graduate, at the 2019 Convocation Ceremony at the college August 5, 2019. The award was created in 1996 to honor graduates who have earned positions of prominence in the national defense field. The ceremony was held to welcome 530 students from our armed services, civilian employees of the Federal Government, and military officers from 75 countries to the new school year.
