Lt. Cmdr. Micah Bonner, the chief of waterways management at Coast Guard Sector St. Petersburg, Florida, is the first and only Coast Guardsman coach of the U.S. Armed Forces Men's Basketball team. He coached the team to a silver medal at the 7th annual Council of International Sports for Military games (CISM) in Wuhan, China. The CISM games opened Oct. 18, 2019 and close Oct. 28, 2019.
