U.S. Rep. Anthony Brown, Vice Chair of the House Armed Services Committee, walks to a CV-22 Osprey with U.S. Air Force Maj. Gen. Vince Becklund, Air Force Special Operations Command deputy commander at Hurlburt Field, Florida, Nov. 5, 2019. Congressman Brown toured AFSOC to learn about the mission and the aircraft used to carry out that mission. Congressman Brown flew on a CV-22 Osprey to personally witness the capabilities of the aircraft. The CV-22 Osprey is a tiltrotor aircraft that combines the vertical takeoff, hover and vertical landing qualities of a helicopter with the long-range, fuel efficiency and speed characteristics of a turboprop aircraft. Its mission is to conduct long-range infiltration, exfiltration and resupply missions for special operations forces. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt. Lynette M. Rolen)
