Midshipmen 1st Class Kevin Hillery watches as his classmates take the oath of office during the U.S. Naval Academy Class of 2012 graduation and commissioning ceremony. Hillery became the first paraplegic to graduate from the academy. Hillery lost the use of legs when a tree was struck by lightening and fell on him while he competed in an adventure race with several of his classmates. The Class of 2012 graduated 810 ensigns and 267 Marine Corps seconnd lieutenants at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis, Md.
