U.S. Army Capt. James A. Hartzell, a Paratrooper assigned to the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, congratulates his Paratroopers, Spc. Raymond Cha, right, and Pfc. Fabian Orban, after receiving their Ranger Tabs during the Army Ranger School graduation ceremony of Class 11-19 at Fort Benning, Ga., Nov. 15, 2019. The Ranger Course is the premier leadership course in the Army and provides the most challenging, realistic training that a soldier can receive. The Ranger Course is a mentally and physically challenging school that develops functional skills directly related to units whose mission is to engage the enemy in close combat and direct fire battle. For 62 days, Ranger students train to exhaustion, pushing the limits of their minds and bodies. The course is divided into three phases (Benning, Mountain, and Swamp).
