A Soldier assigned to 2nd Battalion, 87th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division, calls for a simulated medical evacuation during a platoon live fire training exercise, November 14, at Fort Drum, New York. During the scenario, Catamount Soldiers engaged targets simulating enemy forces with direct fire, while Mountain Sappers with the 41st Engineer Battalion breached a wire obstacle between the platoon and its objective. Soldiers across the Commando brigade have spent months progressing from individual tasks through Expert Infantryman Badge testing, to collective mission essential tasks during team, squad and platoon level training. Company and battalion live fires will follow in the coming months, and ultimately build toward brigade level certification at the Joint Readiness Training Center. (U.S. Army photo by Staff Sgt.
