191111-N-EO124-0160 IWAKUNI, Japan (Nov. 11, 2019) Builder Constructionman Kacie Joslin (left), from Post Falls, Idaho, and Steelworker Constructionman Garrett Wells, from Yale, Michigan, both deployed with Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 5’s Detail Iwakuni, vibrate fresh concrete near the forms of the concrete pad to eliminate gaps and air pockets that are beneath the surface of the concrete for the environmental enclosure. NMCB-5 is deployed across the Indo-Pacific region conducting high-quality construction to support U.S. and partner nations to strengthen partnerships, deter aggression, and enable expeditionary logistics and naval power projection.
