Mr. Chris Devers, the former tribal chairman of the Pauma Band of Luiseno Indians, gives the tribal invocation during the 2019 Western Regional Partnership Principals’ meeting at the Pacific Views Center on Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California, Nov. 19, 2019. The WRP provides a proactive and collaborative framework for senior-policy level Federal, State and Tribal leadership to identify common goals and emerging issues in the states of Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico and Utah, and to develop solutions that support WRP Partners and protect natural and cultural resources, while promoting sustainability, homeland security and military readiness. This was the first time the WRP has been hosted on a military installation. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Lance Cpl. Alison Dostie)
