191112-N-CD254-0078 DILI, Timor-Leste (Nov. 12, 2019) Steelworker 3rd Class Tobias Sickler, deployed with Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 5’s Detail Timor-Leste, measures stirrup tying tie wire around each corner to form grade beams. The grade beams will be connected to the footings to help distribute the weight of the pad and walls in the three-room education center in Liquica, Timor-Leste. NMCB-5 is deployed across the Indo-Pacific region conducting high-quality construction to support U.S. and partner nations to strengthen partnerships, deter aggression, and enable expeditionary logistics and naval power projection.
