191114-N-XK887-0065 DIEGO GARCIA, British Indian Ocean Territory (Nov. 14, 2019) Construction Electrician Constructionman Skylar Knight, from Corpus Christi, Texas, deployed with Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 5’s Detail Diego Garcia, uses a Philadelphia rod to shoot in elevation to verify a recently placed concrete pad is the same elevation as the surrounding footers during the site layout portion of construction. U.S. Navy Seabees deployed to Diego Garcia are constructing a new tension fabric structure to support the U.S. Air Force. NMCB-5 is deployed across the Indo-Pacific region conducting high quality construction to support U.S. and partner nations to strengthen partnerships, deter aggression, and enable expeditionary logistics and naval power projection.
