Iraqi Security Forces (ISF) soldier, smiles for a photo during the culminating event, at the Taji Military Complex, Iraq, Nov. 13, 2019. Exercise Talon Strike involved a battalion level deliberate assault to clear and secure three urban objectives. This culminating activity was significant as it was the final one conducted under the mentorship of Australian and New Zealand trainers before the School of Infantry Noncommissioned II achieves full operational capability. Together, Combined Joint Task Force – Operation Inherent Resolve and the ISF will develop a sustainable and inclusive ISF that can secure its sovereign borders, protect the population and support a return to normalcy across the country and ensure the lasting defeat of Daesh.
